About us – This is what we stand for
We want to inspire our guests on all levels, make our house with its very own individuality and personality a hospitable place. Our goal is to give our guests a temporary home. To be a difference to everything else that makes you unmistakable and unique. But no matter how perfect the guest service may be, for us it is only right when it comes from the heart.
Our History
– Tradition and modernity –
As a first-class hotel with a long history, we combine tradition and modernity in the best possible way.
More than 120 years of traditional history can be found in the Hotel Bielefelder Hof.

Built by the host of the station restaurant, the hotelier Wilhelm Geist, the hotel is run under the name “Grand Hotel Geist”.
The Grand Hotel Geist is sold to the Hohlbein family.
Renamed to “Hotel Bielefelder Hof”, as the name “Grand Hotel Geist” was frowned upon.
During the Second World War, the hotel was occupied by the English military.
The hotel “Bielefelder Hof” is titled to Rudolf Schultze.
The “Bielefelder Hof” is run by the Schultze family as a family business.
After its sale, the “Bielefelder Hof” is no longer used.
From 1989 to 1991 the hotel was rebuilt. The result is a successful complex of old and new buildings.
Mövenpick Hotels International has been awarded the contract for the new management of the traditional hotel.
The Hotel Bielefelder Hof becomes independent again and is now privately run.
In July, the “Bielefelder Hof” is completely rebuilt and renovated and can now call itself “First House on the Square” again.
On July 1, the hotel is taken over by LFPI Hotels Management II GmbH and will continue to be managed as the hotel “Bielefelder Hof”.

Pets are welcome by prior arrangement with an extra charge of 10€ per night. There will be a dog bed and bowl in your room.

We have 12 event rooms with a capacity for up to 180 people. Also for celebrations and weddings.

Summer and Christmas
One should celebrate festivals as they fall. Both in summer and at Christmas we come together and enjoy hours together in the whole team and can celebrate with a drink.
Get-together
From time to time, all colleagues are invited to a small get-together to exchange ideas with each other. Sometimes there is coffee and pastries and sometimes delicious appetizers prepared by our kitchen team.
Team Events
We want to strengthen the cohesion within our individual teams again and again. Accordingly, we always look forward to our departmental team meetings, in which we undertake terrific activities.
