The Hermanns run, the largest popular sporting event in East Westphalia, always takes place on the last Sunday in April. From the start at the Hermanns Monument near Detmold to the Sparrenburg in Bielefeld, the unique route is 31.1 km long. The run is also popular and known far beyond our region. With max. 7000 participants, due to the space available at the Hermanns Monument and the Sparrenburg, only limited participation is possible. In addition to the beginner athletes, the Hermannsrun is also a fixed date in the calendar for top athletes and our house is a popular overnight option to be well rested and well-strengthened for the fun run.

The most important ATP 500 grass event in Germany takes place every June in the OWL Arena in Halle Westphalia. In 2019 Haller record champion Roger Federer celebrated his 10th tournament victory.
